Iām Charlie, a filmmaker from Nottingham, England. Inspired by Skateboarding and Jackie Chan films, at 12 years old I felt compelled to begin making my own short films. Film making had captivated my imagination and as I matured, my taste in film broadened and the enjoyment from working on these early films motivated me to study film making at university.
Whilst studying a BSc in Digital Film and Post Production at Staffordshire University, I became highly skilled at using editing and post production software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. I then began to realise my potential as a director whilst studying an MA in Digital Film and TV Production at the University of York.
My short film 'Trentside' was screened as part of the official selection at the 2018 Cardiff International Film Festival, the 2018 Urban Film Festival and the 2019 Beeston Film Festival. The film secured a distribution deal in the US, gained positive reviews from critics as well as winning the award for Best Cinematography at the 2019 Midlands Movies Awards. My short brand film 'Stay' was also screened at the prestigious 2018 Aesthetica Film Festival.
Having worked on short films, advertising, social content, fashion campaigns and music videos, I'm now an experienced and versatile editor and director and I enjoy challenging myself by working on smarter, edgier and more ambitious projects.
